The Blessing Weekend

Tyson and I planned for Cannon's blessing to be on June the 1st. After announcing this to our fam, we were pleasantly surpisided at how many people were able to come to San ANtonio for the occasion and meet our new little baby boy, Cannon. It turned into a Price/Kunz extravaganza weekend and continued into the following week. It was so much fun. By Friday night everyone had arrived.

So, for those of you who don’t know, High School Football is such a big deal in Texas. It is a way of life! On Friday night which was May the 29th, everyone went to my brother Zane’s kick off season opening game . Can you believe that?! (Hello we are still in May people!) It is a way they get the players and all the families, faculty, and students pumped up for the upcoming year and season. This is crazy to me, but they have mandatory practice and conditioning ALL summer long. (Not just in August like most schools outside of Texas. So no vacations, unless you have proof of it being to go to some kind of football camp.) They don’t mess around here when it comes to football. It was all the more exciting because Zane was starting on the varsity team which is unheard of for a freshman. You’re Awesome Zane! (Dad your dream has come true and your legend can be passed on to your son. Haha : ) I really can’t wait for the fall and everything that comes along with it. For the obvious reason … which is for the real football season to start. Plus, not to mention we will be coming out of Hell’s forecast. (it is soooo HOT!) I just love putting on warm clothes and breathing the fall air while watching a football game. It is so refreshing. We hope Cannon will enjoy it as much as we do.




If Friday was foretelling what we will be in for this fall, we are totally in luck because he did great. It seems he loves football games. (even though he is wearing a baseball shirt... at least he is wearing a sport, we don't have anything football for this size!) Ok really he obviously has no idea what is going on, except that he does know he is outside, which he absolutely loves. Any time he starts to get remotely fussy outside we go and he immediately is content and the happiest little guy ever!



So, this is the field and stadium where they play. I just can’t get over how serious Texans get about High school football. This was the best pic I could find to show the field. At least it shows the astroturf. I thought I had a better one that also showed the stadium, maybe next time.
